Three of the manuscript books are in lined ledgers, one of which bears the name Jesse Williams, the date Nov. 26 -94, and the title "Seven maidens." One manuscript is on paper, unbound, with the letter heading for "The News Letter." The German books include four manuscript books, one in two volumes. One includes German newspaper clippings pasted inside the cover, and two carry the names of performers in the cast list. The stamp for Mrs. Clara Bliesner, St. Louis, Mo., appears on one. The other German book is a holograph by Cranz, Leipzig. The dialogue parts are in German and English. Three sets are German manuscript, many with performers' names. Five sets of parts are in English, three being mimeo manuscript, two typed, and one set manuscript in lined ledgers. All of these sets vary in completeness. The accompanying material consists of the interleavings of stage directions for a stage manager's guide, in English manuscript.
